Our Last Week!

Hello Everyone! Can't believe our trip is already coming to an end! We'd like to thank everyone who prayed for our team during this great adventure and let you know that God has used us and He will continue to!

World Cup fever reached its highest level yet as on Saturday we played a soccer match with the kids from Chisomo, and later that night the US played Ghana, the last African team in the tournament. Karen and I (Kyle) made a wager that if Ghana won, we would do all the dishes for lunch on Monday, and so after another US soccer disappointment, we found out just how hard it is to wash the traditional Zambian Dish of nshima (sheema) off plates.

After our exciting and exhausting soccer game, we had Church in the nearby village of Kapompa on Sunday. Our friends from the YWAM DTS ran the service and did an awesome job, the service was so alive and thought provoking. The rest of Sunday was going to the market and then making fajitas as we mourned/"celebrated" the fact that Karen G. and Jackie had to leave us on Monday morning! Hopefully they are sleeping in their own beds by now :)

The first part of this week has been really great as we feel closer to and more comfortable with the kids than ever! on Monday we helped paint the front wall of the drop in center, and then headed to the shelter and had a great time with the kids. I taught a Bible lesson on Philippians 2 and then we had a wheelbarrow race tournament, followed by the kids singing worship songs, both traditional Zambian and Western. The song time was especially touching to us. OK Gotta go! Hope you all are looking forward to Independence Day!
